TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THE FOLLOWING ARE ONLY EXTRACTS FROM THE POLICY WHICH MUST BE READ BY THE HIRER / DRIVER AND ANY VARIATION FROM THE STANDRD TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY NOTED
(a) the insured shall verify the address of the Hirer and that the Hirer / Driver is not among the excluded persons enumerated below;
(b) the Vehicle shall not be let out on hire to, or driven by
1 .Persons under 21 or veer 75 years of age or as otherwise agreed and noted by endorsement on the Policy
2. Persons who do not hold a valid British or British Commonwealth Driving licence, or (where approved by the Company) a valid British Visitors or Foreign Driving licence or valid International Driving Permit.
3. Persons who have had less than 12 months recent regular driving experience of a Motor Vehicle other than a Motor Cycle whilst holding the form of a licence as described in (b) 2 above.
4.Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a Motor Vehicle or Motor Cycle and / or have had their Driving Licence endorsed or suspended. Parking and not more than one speeding offence in the past 3 years may be ignored. “Spent” convictions covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, may be disregarded.
5.Person who have any physical or mental defect or infirmity or impairment of sight or hearing or other complaint..
6. Persons who have had their Insurance declined and / or refused and /or special terms imposed and / or have had their Policy or cover cancelled by a Motor insurer.
7.Persons who have resided in the United Kingdom or Eire for less than 3 consecutive years (unless such person is a temporary visitor to the United Kingdom).
8.Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment
9. Jockeys and Persons connected with Racing of any sort.
10. Undergraduates and / or Students
11. Service Personnel other than persons born in the United Kingdom.
(c) The Insured Vehicle shall be driven only by the hirer or any person who has completed and signed a Hirer’s proposal form immediately prior to hire.
(d) The company shall not be liable for the first £500 (or such amount specified in the Policy) of each and every claim for loss or damage to the Insured Vehicle
IMPORTANT NOTES TO CUSTOMERS
SUPPLEMENTARY TERMS AND CONDITIONS – please read carefully
1. All personal cheques must be supported by a current cheque guarantee card. Company cheques are to be subject to authorisation by “Transax”.
2 .Deposits to be charged on all vehicles are as follows
(a) Cars £50.00
(b) Light Commercials and Buses £100.00
(c) Larger deposits may be required in special circumstances totally at the discretion of Action Express Van and Truck hire
3.Any hirer not returning a vehicle by the time stated on the hire agreement is liable to an extra charge at daily rates, to be deducted from the deposit. Action Express and Truck Hire reserve the right to pass on the hirers details to the Police in the event of an overdue rental
4.It is the customers responsibility to return the hire vehicle on time, and to the original collection point. However, collection and delivery can be arranged at small extra cost, see one of the counter staff for details.
5. Half or part day hires are not available unless a previous arrangement has been made
6. Deposit paid by credit cards. Action Express Van & Truck Hire reserve the right to debit the customers credit / charge card with miscellaneous charges for fuel, chargeable damages or extra days hire without seeking further permission from the cardholder. This also applies to card details offered over the telephone or by fax.
BREAKDOWN
In the event of a breakdown, please contact Action Express Van & Truck Hire immediately if in office hours. Out of Hours breakdowns should be telephoned through to the designated number supplied.
ACCIDENTS
In the event of an accident please take the details of all parties and witnesses involved in the normal manner and report to Action Express Van & Truck Hire as soon as possible. It is a legal requirement that the hirer must complete an accident report for to comply with Action Express & Van Hire’s conditions of hire.
INSURANCE AND C.D.W
Insurance supplied by Action Express Van & Truck hire is fully comprehensive and carries £500 excess. A false declaration by the hirer will automatically invalidate the insurance.
Collision damage Waiver is available, but only applies in the event of a third party claim involving a road traffic accident. The customer will be liable for losses of up to £250 at cost.
Vehicles insured by the customer that sustain accident damage will be charged at the normal tariff, whilst the vehicle is off the road undergoing repair.
ACTON EXPRESS VAN & TRUCK HIRE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE THE HIRE AT ANY TIME
The lessor shall not be liable for any loss or damage to goods carried or time lost, or any expenses incurred, caused by breakdown or other vehicle defects.
Any spot hire vehicle rental period is not to exceed three months after which the rental agreement must be renewed.Hirers using vehicles over 3,500kg gross weight for commercial purposes must produce a valid Operators Licence to comply with the law. Any vehicle impounded for non-compliance will be deemed on hire until the vehicle is back in the possession of “Action Express Van & Truck Hire”
We thank you for your customer and endeavour to ensure that all goes well during your period of hire. If, however, you have any complaints or any problems during your hire period then we would be most grateful if you inform us on your return.
